1. French Fries and Potato Chips
Even though whole potatoes are healthy and filling, french fries and potato chips are not. French Fries and potato chips are some of the most readily available foods in our country. They can pose a lot of health risks if consumed regularly because they are deep fried in oil, they are very high in fat and calories.
2. White Bread
After eating refined carbs like white bread, the high amount of sugar in your bloodstream — unless immediately used for activity — has the tendency to be stored as fat in the body. So unless you are getting up and exercising right after eating, I would avoid white bread altogether. Plus, the blood-sugar crash will have you hungry soon after ingesting and reaching for another snack.
Eating a slice a month won’t kill you. Yet if you’re making eating pizza a habit, you are inviting health issues. Pizza can turn into an addiction, just like cigarettes or alcohol. The refined flour used to make the pizza can increase belly fat, the cheese increases the risk of heart disease. The bad part is that due to its taste, you will only feel like eating more and more pizza.
4. White Rice
Like anything in the grains family, rice contains a certain level of anti-nutrients like phytates which can make it hard for us to absorb the minerals it contains. White rice is stripped of its bran and germ. Without the bran and germ, about 25% of a grain’s protein is lost and is reduced in at least seventeen key nutrients. The rice is then processed to improve taste, increase shelf life and enhance cooking properties.
5. Ice Cream
Ice cream is one of the tastiest desserts, but ice cream is high with calories and contains crazy amounts of sugar. Just like with most unhealthy foods, a small portion of ice cream is fine every now and then. Yet the problem is that it’s very easy to consume large amounts in one serving
